CELEBRATING BLACK HISTORY

The Welton Street corridor and the Five Points community has a unique and rich African American and jazz history. The Five Points neighborhood was once known as the “Harlem of the West”, as many of the great jazz musicians of the 1930s-1950s performed in local clubs and bars whose buildings still stand today. The Jazz Roots in Five Points event is a celebration of Black History where we aim to honor the neighborhood's long standing history of jazz and black culture as it relates to American history at large.

Stay in the loop with all the latest Jazz Roots information and updates by following the Five Points Business Improvement District Facebook page. Be a part of this extraordinary celebration that pays homage to the captivating rhythm and soul of jazz in the heart of Five Points. Join us as we come together to create an unforgettable experience that bridges the past with the present and carries the legacy of jazz into the future.
